Panther City Returns Home to Battle Swarm
April 20, 2022 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Panther City Lacrosse Club News Release
Fort Worth, Texas - The Panther City Lacrosse Club (7-9) takes on the Georgia Swarm (8-8) at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU, and faceoff is at 7:30 p.m. CT.
The game is pivotal for both team's playoff hopes, as the loser is all but eliminated from the NLL postseason picture. One key matchup in the game will be the battle of the brothers, as Panther City's Jeremy Thompson squares off against his younger brothers, Lyle and Miles Thompson. Jeremy leads Panther City with 135 loose balls (seventh in the NLL) while Lyles leads Georgia in points (90), goals (42) and assists (48), all in the top 15 in the NLL.
The Swarm also feature the league's second-best road penalty kill (64.7%), but they still may be unable to stop Panther City's Power Play unit, which is 13 of their last 20 on the man advantage at Dickies Arena over the past four home games. The team's 65% power play conversion rate ranks among the best in the league.
