December 7, 2023 - National Lacrosse League (NLL)
Panther City Lacrosse Club News Release

The Panther City Lacrosse Club (1-0) will open their 2023-24 home slate against the Las Vegas Desert Dogs (0-1) on Sunday, December 10 at 3:00 p.m. CT at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, TX. The game will be broadcast on Bally Sports Southwest Extra with Ron Thulin (PxP), Dalton Jernigan (Analyst) and Maggie Hale (Floor Reporter) on the call. The game will also be available to be streamed on ESPN+.

Panther City swept the season series with the Desert Dogs in 2022-23 winning all three contests against the then expansion club with a +11 scoring differential. Goalie Nick Damude had a career night against Las Vegas on 12/16/22, allowing a career-low three goals and recording a career-high .909 save percentage. Damude stopped 30 of the 33 shots he faced on the night. With that performance, Damude became just the fifth goalie in NLL history to allow three or fewer goals in a full regular-season game.

In Week 1, Panther City defeated the Vancouver Warriors, 11-7, behind five goals from veteran forward Callum Crawford. Panther City had 12 different players record a point that evening and the team was 2-3 on the man advantage, of which included 2 power play goals by Crawford. Defensively, Damude turned in the best goalie performance in the NLL in Week 1, only allowing seven goals and stopping 43 of the 50 shots he faced (.865 SV %). Captain Matt Hossack led the defensemen with 14 loose balls and three caused turnovers, while also contributing two assists. The Panther City defense limited Vancouver to just one goal in both the second and third quarters, while PCLC successfully killed three of the four Vancouver power plays.
