FORT WORTH, TX - The Panther City Lacrosse Club has signed forward Jonathan Donville to a two-year contract, the team announced today.
"We are thrilled to officially welcome Jonathan to our franchise here in Fort Worth," Panther City Lacrosse Club General Manager Bob Hamley said. "He was the top target on our draft board prior to last season and we cannot wait to get him in the fold and have him work with our tremendous coaching staff. We all believe Jonathan can be a cornerstone-type player for Panther City for years to come and I know our fans are going to love having him don the purple and black, while also seeing the impact he will have in our local community as we continue to grow the game of lacrosse in North Texas."
Donville was the first overall selection by Panther City in the 2021-22 NLL Entry Draft before playing out his final year of collegiate eligibility at Maryland, netting 53 points on 31 goals and 22 assists, en route to a NCAA Championship with the Terrapins.Hailing from Oakville, Ontario, Donville previously attended Cornell, where he netted 100 points in just 33 games played, boasting a .380 shot percentage and was named a second team Inside Lacrosse/Maverik Media All-American in 2020. He earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy League honors in his sophomore campaign in 2019 and started all 15 games and recorded at least one point in every game, scoring multi-point games in nine contests. Prior to Cornell, he helped lead St. Michael's to back-to-back OFSAA Provincial Championships in high school and was named team MVP during both of those seasons. Donville also spent three years with the Mimico Mountaineers in the OLA JR A Lacrosse League and was named assistant captain.
