Panther City Lacrosse Club News Release

FORT WORTH, TX - The Panther City Lacrosse Club (4-4) faces off against the Georgia Swarm (6-4) for the second time this season after previously visiting the Swarm on January 6 where their second-half comeback effort fell short and PCLC lost a close battle, 12-10.

Panther City is coming off a bye week and previously in Week 11 defeated the Colorado Mammoth, 14-13 in OT, after Jonathan Donville netted the game winner 29 seconds into the extra frame. Panther City's offense has awoken over the past four games as they team is averaging 14.5 goals/game since January 13.

Rookie forward Ryan Sheridan had his breakout performance of the 2023-24 season in the club's last outing as he powered his way to a five-goal performance, after he had previously been inactive the last two games. The two games where he was inactive were beneficial to his growth Sheridan said following his five-goal game.

"I think sitting was absolutely beneficial. I wasn't in the lineup for the last two weeks and I was watching the game from the press box from a different perspective. The game really slowed down mentally for me and I was able to see the other guys work and see what I could do to help them and myself. Today the game was coming to me instead of me coming to it. I think sitting those two games helped me really find my comfort zone." - Sheridan (2/9/24)

Will Malcom also came alive against Colorado, as he recorded seven points (3G/4A) to lead the team and through eight games has recorded 45 points, including a team-leading 30 assists. In their previous matchup, Callum Crawford led the way against Georgia as he recorded eight points (3G/5A), which led the team in all three categories.

Defensively, Matt Hossack returned to action after a two-game absence and recorded nine loose balls and a season high four caused turnovers.

Georgia is led by Lyle Thompson (51 points - 25G/26A) and Andrew Kew (50 points - 20G/30A).
