Panther City Lacrosse Club Heads West to Complete Home-Home with Las Vegas Desert Dogs

Fort Worth, Texas - The Panther City Lacrosse Club (1-0) will head to Las Vegas to complete a home-home series with the Desert Dogs (0-1), as they will square off on Friday, December 16 at 7:30 p.m. PT on ESPN2. Brendan Glasheen (PXP), Mitch Belisle (Analyst) and Devan Kaney (Floor Reporter) will be on the call from the Michelob ULTRA Arena at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino.

Panther City beat the Desert Dogs, 13-11, in both team's 2022-23 season opener on December 9 at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth. Offensively, Panther City was led by forwards Will Malcom who scored a game-high four goals and also added three assists and Phil Caputo who tied the team lead (P. Dodds) with four assists and added three goals. Also adding to Panther City's scoring efforts were three transition goals (L. Byrnes, J. Medeiros & L. Patten) as well as the club going 3-4 on the power play with goals scored by Caputo, Malcom and Patten.

Defensively, goalie Nick Damude found his groove in the second half as he recorded 17 of his 30 saves in the final two quarters and only allowed four goals in the final 30 minutes of game play. Panther City also won the battle between the lines scooping up 70 loose balls to Vegas' 63 and also forced 11 turnovers compared to Vegas' nine caused turnovers.

The Desert Dogs will host their inaugural home opener and will look to a committee for their scoring efforts as four players recoded four points in their first matchup against Panther City. Jack Hannah, who was originally drafted by Panther City, tied for the club lead, scoring two goals this past Friday. Jacob Ruest had a game-high 10 loose balls and also recorded four points (1 goal/3 assists).
