GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Peter Pappas, Philadelphia KiXX

Pappas earned his second consecutive Goalkeeper of the Week award by saving 20 of 23 shots in Philadelphia's 5-3 win in Baltimore on Saturday, October 11. The 31-year-old turned away 14 shots in the first half alone. Pappas saved 19 of 21 shots in a 5-2 KiXX win over San Diego on October 4. For the season, Pappas is 2-0 and leads the League in goals against average (2.50) and saves (39).

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Craig Scheer, St. Louis Steamers

Scheer wins this week's Defensive honors after recording a goal and four blocks in the Steamers' 7-4 win over Kansas City on Saturday night. The 27-year-old midfielder completed a decisive four-goal run for St. Louis at 1:20 of the fourth quarter when he controlled a long feed from goalkeeper Brett Phillips and beat Comets netminder DJ Horvath. With four rejections, the native of Cape Girardeau, MO, led all MISL shot-blockers over the weekend.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Steve Butcher, St. Louis Steamers

Butcher scored three points (two goals, assist) in the Steamers' win in Kansas City on Saturday. He scored St. Louis' first goal of the season at 3:35 of the first, and his empty-net goal with 43 seconds remaining sealed the victory. The 25-year-old forward also assisted on Daryl Doran's power play goal at 14:13 of the second quarter.
