RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CA - The JetHawks used a pair of home runs from Erik Castro and Telvin Nash to beat the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes 7-3 on Tuesday night at The Epicenter. Castro's home run, a two run go-ahead home run in the sixth put the JetHawks up for good.

Telvin Nash hit his 12th home run of the season in the top of the second inning with Castro on first base to give the JetHawks a 2-0 lead. Rafael Valenzuela scored Jonathan Meyer on a groundout later in the inning to make it 3-0.

The Quakes tied it up in the top of the third with three runs against starter David Martinez. Leon Landry led off with a triple, Joc Pedersen singled him home and then reached third base on an Austin Gallagher double. Chris O'Brien scored Pedersen on a single and Scott Wingo scored Gallagher on a ground out.

Those were the only three runs allowed by Martinez who won his first game of the season to improve his record to 1-2. The right-hander tossed 7 2/3 innings with a strike out, three walks and seven hits allowed.

After Domingo Santana singled to start the sixth, Castro hit his sixth home run of the season to give the JetHawks a 5-3 lead. It was the first time Castro has homered away from The Hangar in 2012.

Lancaster added insurance runs in both the eight and the ninth. Nash drove in Santana with a single in the eighth and Orloff drove in Valenzuela on a sacrifice fly. Valenzuela had tripled to start the inning.

Garrett Gould picked up his fourth loss of the season for the Quakes to fall to 0-4. He allowed five runs - four earned - in six innings of work with three strikeouts.

The Quakes left nine runners on base in the game and grounded into three double plays. They loaded the bases in the eighth inning but Kirk Clark came on to retire the final batter and leave the runners on. Clark picked up his third save.
