Chillicothe Paints News Release

BUTLER, Pa. - The Chillicothe Paints (9-2), presented by Adena Health System, ran their win streak to a Prospect League-long seven games with a 3-1 win on the road against the Butler BlueSox (2-7).

Dallas Hall, the first batter of the game, hit the second pitch he saw into center field for a single. A wild pitch sent him to second base and he later scored on an Andrew Czech RBI groundout to give the Paints an early 1-0 lead.

Chillicothe made it 3-0 in the third. With one out, Drew DeVine was hit by a pitch and stole second with two outs. Czech then walked to put runners at first and second. Connor Klemann missed his first home run by inches, the ball he hit glanced off the top of the right field wall for a two-run double.

Butler got its only run in the bottom of the third. Ray Scala tripled and scored on an Andrew Chuba double to make it 3-1.

Chillicothe starter Taylor Perrett (1-0) earned his first win of the year. The right-hander allowed just one run on six hits over 5 2/3 innings, walked one and struck out four.

Jack Raines threw the final 2 1/3 for the Paints and struck out six, including the final five Butler batters of the night. The left-hander earned his Prospect League-leading third save.
