Paints Beat Miners 14-6, Get 40th Win

BECKLEY, W.Va. - The Chillicothe Paints, presented by Adena Health System, wrapped up the regular season with a 14-6 win over the West Virginia Miners at Linda K. Epling Stadium Tuesday night, giving the Paints a 40-20 record. It's the second time (2015) that the Paints won 40 games in the Prospect League era.

Chillicothe jumped out to a 14-0 lead by the middle of the fourth inning. The Miners (18-42) scored the game's final six runs, but the outcome of the game was never in doubt.

Cody Orr went 2-for-3 with his 14th triple of the season, scored three times and drove in two. He finishes the season with a .409 batting average. Chris Eisel went 3-for-6 with four RBIs and two runs scored. Cole Andrews went 1-for-3 with two RBIs, finishing the season with a .320 average, 74 hits, 11 home runs and 61 RBIs. Justin McIntyre went 3-for-5 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs scored. Ethan Hajdukovic had a 2-for-5 night with an RBI. Colin Shepherd went 4-for-5 with two runs scored.

Zach Kendall (4-0) earned the win for the Paints. He allowed one run on four hits, striking out five and walking one over five innings.

The Paints finish in a tie with Danville for first in the East Division, the Dans hold the head-to-head tiebreaker and will host the Paints at Danville Stadium Thursday for the East Division Championship Game.
