Billings Outlaws News Release

Bob Bees, assistant head coach and offensive coordinator for the Billings Outlaws announced today the signing of a new quarterback, Beau Pierce.

"Since Chris Dixon, our starting QB, got a serious look this past week from a Canadian Football team we felt we needed to bring in a quality prospect to help our team for the balance of the season" stated Bee's. " Beau broke most of Mark Brunells quarterback records from St. Joseph High School in Santa Maria California and was drafted by the San Francisco 49r's. He played his college ball at Allan Hancock Jr. College before being discovered and accepted with a 4 year scholarship to San Jose State. Pierce received "Honorable Mention" for the WAC as a Quarterback and also for academic excellence.

Pierce lives in San Jose, California and arrived in camp this Monday morning and was practicing with the squad that afternoon. Heron O'Neal, head coach for the Outlaws stated that "it will be tough for Adam Sanchez, our current back up, or Beau Pierce to learn our complex offense in such a short time especially against a strong opponent like the Tri Cities Fever, but we will see how they progress and make a game day decision on what the coaching staff feels will give us the best option to win." After this game we have a bye week which will allow Bees to work with Adam and Beau."

Coach O'Neal is hopeful that if Dixon is not signed by a CFL team that he might return for the Outlaws although it's probably too late for him to be fully prepared for this Saturdays game against the Fever to see much action. "We will look at all our options, make the best decision on the talent we have available, and go out and get a win if we can" stated Bee's.

The Outlaws next game is against the only team to record a win over the Outlaws this year, the defending NIFL Champions, Tri City Fever. The game is this Saturday the 29th, at 7:00 pm at the Metrapark. It is already being billed as the biggest game of the year on all the indoor football websites.
