Texas Outlaws News Release

DALLAS, Texas - The Texas Outlaws are saddened by the loss of friend and player Federico "Freddy" Garcia, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly early Tuesday morning.

Freddy was a friend and long time soccer mate to many of the Outlaws players. He appeared in two games last season, both in Canada, when the team was in need of players that were eligible to travel. He made an immediate impact, scoring four goals and adding an assist. He was assured a spot on this season's roster but opted not to play and to focus instead on finishing his studies at the University of North Texas. In his free time, he did play alongside John Andrews and Shaun David on Dallas Roma FC, the storied amatuer club team that was the first to beat an MLS team in the Lamar Hunt Open Cup.

The game against the San Diego Sockers on November 15 will be dedicated to the memory of Freddy. Players and fans will observe a moment of silence in his memory. All fans are encouraged to leave their condolences on the Texas Outlaws Facebook wall where they can be shared with his family and friends.
