Billings Outlaws News Release

A recent article named Outlaws Head Coach Heron O'Neal and Co-Owner/General Manager Adam Steadman among the sport's top 10 most influential people in the United States.

The Indoor Football Weekly's annual list of top achievers in the indoor game gave O'Neal and Steadman joint honors in the #4 slot.

Steadman says he was surprised by the award, "Chris Dixon (Outlaws Quarterback and IFL MVP) caught me this morning after a staff meeting, shook my hand and said, 'Congratulations!' I thought he was just really impressed with the meeting we'd just finished... then he showed me the article... I was surprised the association even knew my name!" Steadman joked.

The award caps a season long string of honors presented to the Outlaws this year and is the first to highlight non-player achievements.

"Coach 'O' and I created a front-office/football operations strategy late in 2008 that we believed would bring us to the Championship game while also raising the bar for discipline on and off the field." said Steadman. "There's more to being a successful franchise than just winning football games. Coach 'O' and I are both fathers first... and we're proud to have a winning team that our kids can look up too! We've asked a lot from our players this year... and they've delivered even more."

"This is an unexpected honor that really means a lot to me." Echoed Heron O'Neal. "I think a lot of teams tend to look at football operations as completely separate from the business side of the franchise. When Adam and I decided to take a different approach, we knew it would be a challenge to build a team that shines in every way. It's nice to have someone from the outside see what we see." O'Neal further commented about the abbreviated explanation for he and Steadman receiving the award. "It really says it all. We're winning games, carrying a great fan base and doing it all with integrity. It might not be sexy, but it's what we set out to do."

The Outlaws are hosting the River City Rage in the 2009 United Bowl in Billings this Saturday at 2:00PM.

With an expected record breaking crowd in attendence, doors will be opening early to accommodate the increased traffic.
