Otters rebound with whale of a win

Plymouth, MI.- Justin Hodgman scored twice including a shorthanded insurnace goal with less than two minutes remaining and added an assist as the Erie Otters skated to a 6-4 win over the Plymouth Whalers in an Ontario Hockey League game played tonight at the Compuware Arena. Luke Gazdic, Zach Torquato Jordan Skellett and Anthony Peluso aslo scored for the Otters. Ryan O'Reilly collected two assists. Joe McCann paced the Whalers with two goals. Chris Terry (on a penalty shot) and AJ Jenks had the others. The Otters improved to 1-1 with the win. Plymouth is 0-1. The two teams were tied at one after one. The Otters carried a 4-1 advantage into the third. Erie made it 5-1 early in the third before the Whalers rallied for three unanswered to close the gap to 5-4. Hodgman's shorthanded goal salted away the victory. Justin Garay turned aside 38 of the 42 shots he faced for the win. The three stars of the game were 1. Hodgman; 2. McCann and 3. Garay.

The Otters home opener will take place Saturday, September 29th when the Sudbury Wolves visit for a 7:30 p.m. start at the Tullio Arena presented by Taco Bell and JET-TV. The first 3,000 fans into the game will receive a free Otters magnetic schedule and a free taco courtesy of Taco Bell. Tickets for the game are available at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations and the Erie Civic Center Box Office. Warm up for the home opener at the Otters Pre-Game Party being held from 5-7 p.m. on 8th Street (between French and Holland) featuring beverages, food and a free concert by the M-80's.

Single game tickets for all 2007-08 Erie Otters regular season home games are now on sale at all Erie-area TicketMaster locations and the Erie Civic Center Box Office. Platinum tickets are $13.50, Gold Tickets are $11.50 and Children (12 and under) are $9.50 in any seating area. All single game ticket prices include the City of Erie Entertainment Tax. All tickets can also be purchased on-line by visiting www.ottershockey.com.

2007-08 Erie Otters Season Tickets are still available. Reserve your seats now and save big over the Box Office price. Platinum level tickets are $376.74; Gold level tickets are $328.61 and a Child (12 and under) Season Ticket in any seating level is $230.48. All prices do not include the City of Erie Entertainment Tax or fees. There are additional savings for Erie Youth Hockey Association and Erie Lady Lions members.
