
Ottawa Agrees to Terms with Wideman

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators (@Senators) announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defenceman Chris Wideman on a one-year, two-way contract. The contract will carry an annual value of $600,000 in the National Hockey League and of $400,000 in the American Hockey League.
Wideman, 25, spent the season with Ottawa's American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators, setting career highs in games (75), goals (19), points (61) and penalty minutes (116). His 61 points were most among all AHL defenceman and he was Binghamton's lone representative at the 2014-15 All-Star Classic.
Following the season, Wideman was voted the winner of the Eddie Shore Award as the AHL's best defenceman for the 2014-15 season. Wideman was also named as a defenceman on the AHL's First All-Star Team.
Drafted by the Senators with their fourth-round selection (100th overall) in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Wideman came to Ottawa after completing four years with the Central Collegiate Hockey Association's Miami (Ohio) RedHawks.
