Orlando City B News Release

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Orlando City B (4-3-2, 14 points) fell by a 4-0 scoreline on Sunday afternoon to reigning MLS NEXT Pro Champions Columbus Crew 2 (5-1-1, 17 points) at Historic Crew Stadium. The match saw Orlando City Academy product Fernando Sanchez make his professional debut, entering the game late in the second half.

The Lions will now turn the page to a Friday evening fixture against Atlanta United 2 at Osceola County Stadium. That match is set to kick off at 7 p.m. ET and will serve as the first time Orlando City B hosts The Five Stripes in Kissimmee.

Scoring Summary:

53' Gio De Libera (Cole Mrowka) - CLB 1, ORL 0

The Crew took the lead thanks to a ball that was poked through from Cole Mrowka following some congestion at the top of the box, finding the foot of Gio De Libera who was able to control it before slotting in the finish.

65' Mataeo Bunbury (Gio De Libera) CLB 2, ORL 0

Crew 2 doubled its advantage with Gio De Libera driving up the center of the pitch before finding Mataeo Bunbury on the left edge of the area, who took one touch before sending his shot into the back of the net.

78' Clay Holstad (Gibran Rayo) - CLB 3, ORL 0

The home side scored another with Gibran Rayo taking on his defender before flicking a ball up toward the center of the area and finding the head of Clay Holstad for the finish.

87' Gibran Rayo (Ariel Mbumba) - CLB 4, ORL 0

The Crew added another with Ariel Mbumba being played through down the left flank, running by his defender before playing a ball across the face of goal for Gibran Rayo for the tap-in finish.

Match Notes:

Fernando Sanchez made his professional debut in the match, entering the game in the 86th minute.

Sunday's match marked the last of a two-game road trip for the Lions, set to return to Osceola County Stadium on Friday. It also served as the first time the side has dropped back-to-back results this campaign.

Head Coach Martín Perelman made two changes to his starting lineup from last week's match at Crown Legacy, with Juninho and Abdi Salim each making their return to the starting XI.

Next Match: Orlando City B returns home to take on Atlanta United 2 on Friday, May 19 in a 7 p.m. ET kickoff at Osceola County Stadium.
