Opening Night for GBL

That's right, opening night has finally arrived! Months of anticipation has led up to this moment. The first pitch of the season will be thrown out at three different ballparks tonight, kicking off the 2009 GBL Championship Season. This season offers up even more excitement than last year with another team in Canada and another team residing in the desert of the southwest. Also the recent announcement of the Yuma Scorpions signing a two year Affiliation Agreement with the Colombian Professional Baseball League to develop players, umpires, trainers, and other clubhouse personnel, will only add to the buzz around the league.
In addition to these developments, the GBL and its teams have also made an effort to keep up with the technology movement. Many teams, including the GBL itself can now be followed on Twitter and Facebook. Also in an effort to reach those fans that aren?t able to make it to the ballpark, we have partnered with pointstreak.com which will offer up to the minute stats, box scores, and live game action. Internet audio broadcast will also be available this year for all of the teams.
