Open Tryouts Find New Talent for Swashbucklers

LAKE CHARLES - Head Coach Darnell Lee held open tryouts last Saturday and was extremely impressed by some of the talent who demonstrated their skills, their heart, and their passion. Among the thirty some athletes who were put to the test from 9:00 - 11:30 AM, Coach Lee chose seven, namely Bryan Arceneaux, Cornell Gedword, Raymond Harris, and Antonio Overstreet at Wide Receiver; Joe McLemore and Derek Patterson at Defensive Back, and Linebacker Justin Angona.
"I'm looking to fill about three more positions to complete our roster before we head into camp this season", said Head Coach Darnell Lee. "I've never seen so many players come to tryouts already in shape and ready to play. Though I really feel good about the talent we have so far, I've scheduled open tryouts in Gonzalez in January to be sure we don't overlook any top Louisiana athletes", said Lee.
