Open Auditions for Starring Roles in Pittsburgh Power Ads Start this Thursday
November 29, 2011 - Arena Football League (AFL)
Pittsburgh Power News Release
The Pittsburgh Power of the Arena Football League are holding open auditions for starring roles in their television and online advertising campaign promoting their 2012 season. The auditions will be held at Mullen's on Carson on Pittsburgh's South Side on December 1st starting at 2:00pm. Everyone who participates will receive a pair of tickets to a 2012 Power home game at CONSOL Energy Arena.
"This is a great way for us to connect with our fans and show the town that we are truly their team," said owner Matt Shaner. Co-owner Lynn Swann added, "The fans are what make a franchise successful, so who better to represent us in our ads?"
In keeping with the nature of the planned commercials and videos, those who participate in the auditions will be asked to perform both improv and script readings.
They are encouraged to approach the auditions with a sense of fun, creativity and spontaneity, along with an irreverent sense of humor.
Those who are awarded the roles will have the opportunity to help refine and develop the characters, described as a pair of hard-core Power fans who consider themselves unofficial spokespeople for the team. Production of the final commercials and videos is scheduled to begin in January 2012. The advertising campaign will be locally produced by BrabenderCox and edited by Phenomenon Post.
Registration begins at 11:00am the day of the auditions. Pre-register online at pittsburghpowerfootball.com.
