OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Lancers of the United States Hockey League (USHL) are pleased to announce the release of their regular season schedule for the upcoming 2009-2010 season. The 60-game schedule is an even split of 30 home and 30 road games and begins with the Lancers highly anticipated return to the city of Omaha with their home opener at the Civic Auditorium on Saturday, October 3rd against division rivals, the Tri-City Storm. The Lancers will open the season with five straight home games before taking to the road for the first time in late October.

Omaha's busiest month will be November when the Lancers are slated to play 11 games in a span of just 23 days. That stretch includes a Veteran's Day contest in Tri-City on November 11th and a Thanksgiving Day rematch at the Des Moines Buccaneers on November 26th. The USHL's Holiday Break will run from December 20th through the 28th with the Lancers resuming play in Sioux City on New Year's Eve. Omaha will then battle through another 11 games in January with a brief respite at the end of the month for the USHL's All-Star Game slated for Tuesday, January 26th in Indianapolis. February sees the Lancers on the road more often than not with seven of their 10 contests away from the Civic including weekends in Fargo (February 5, 6) and Youngstown (February 19, 20). Omaha then closes its regular season schedule with seven consecutive home contests beginning with a St. Patrick's Day tilt against Fargo on March 17th and concluding with the regular season finale on Saturday, April 3rd against Des Moines.

The Lancers schedule boasts a nearly 50/50 split between contests against West Division and East Division foes. Omaha will play 32 games this season within their own West Division while suiting up for 28 contests against the East. The Lancers will face their arch rivals, the Lincoln Stars, five times this season including home contests on Saturday, October 10th and Saturday, January 16th. The Lancers will travel to Lincoln on January 8th, January 22nd and February 26th.
