Lights FC faced RGV FC at Cashman Field, in a rematch of Las Vegas' first game of the 2023 season that ended in a 1-1 draw at Texas.

The Lights' opened the score in the 28th minute after a heel pass from Luke Staffer set-up Tabort Etaka Preston to keep running towards goal and as he approached the corner of the box he curled a perfect shot to the top right corner all the way to the back of the net.

Las Vegas extended their lead by taking advantage of a mistake from RGV FC, with defender Wahab Ackwei's attempt to clear the ball landing right in front of Preston and the "Fresh Prince of Cameroon" dribbled past two Toros' players in the 37th minute to score for the second time on Saturday night and become Lights FC's leading scorer this season with 5 goals.

The visiting side cut the Las Vegas lead in the 90th minute with a goal from Erik Pimentel, but it wasn't enough. Lights FC registered their first home win of the 2023 USL Championship season by a final score of 2-1.
