Oklahoma State Pitching Duo Joining the Bells

BELLINGHAM, Wash. - The Bells are excited to announce the latest additions to the pitching rotation from Oklahoma State University. Right-handed pitchers Ryan Bogusz and Wyatt Cheney will join the Bells this summer.

"We are thrilled to have Oklahoma State once again represented on the Bells roster. It has been our pleasure to work with Coach Holliday and the Cowboys over the past several seasons," said Bells General Manager Stephanie Morrell. "We have come to find OSU players are talented, gritty and ready to help the team when they arrive in Bellingham. We look forward to having Ryan and Wyatt with us this summer."

Bogusz graduated from Lone Star High School in 2019 and will begin his freshman season with the Cowboys this month. Formerly, he played for the USA Prime/Prospect National Team and was ranked the No. 46 RHP in the state of Texas.

"Ryan is a young RHP coming off an impressive prep career," said Morrell. "He's known for pounding the zone and making things very challenging for hitters. Furthermore, he's described to be a great teammate who leads by example. We expect Ryan to be a big asset for the Bells pitching staff this summer."

Bogusz stands at 6-foot-2-inches 170lbs., and has a max fastball of 91mph, according to Prep Baseball Report. He had a batting average of .397 during his senior season.

Cheney, a 6-foot 155-pound pitcher, is a graduate of Liberty Hill High School in Bertram, Texas and was ranked the No. 27 RHP in the state. He earned Central Texas All-District 19-4A First Team honors as a sophomore and junior.

"Wyatt is an athletic RHP known to have excellent command," Morrell said. "He had an impressive prep career and after a spring season at OSU, we believe he'll be ready to play a big role on the Bells pitching staff."

Cheney and Bogusz will bring the heat on the mound this summer in Bellingham.

The Bells home opener is Tuesday, June 2 at Joe Martin Field.
