Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Comets have won eight consecutive games for their longest winning streak since the 2023 season and own a 3-0 lead in their road series against the Salt Lake Bees, which continues at 7:35 p.m. CT at The Ballpark at America First Square...The Comets sit a season-best 13 games above .500 overall.

Last Game: The Oklahoma City Comets surged late, scoring five runs between the seventh and eighth innings to defeat the Salt Lake Bees, 6-3, Thursday night. The Comets took the lead at 1-0 in the second inning with a Hyeseong Kim RBI triple, but Salt Lake responded in the bottom half of the inning and tied the game. The Bees took the lead in the third inning on an RBI single from Gustavo Campero and plated another run in the fifth inning on a balk. OKC evened the score at three with a pair of runs in the seventh inning, including a game-tying hit by Alex Freeland. The Comets then jumped ahead with a three-run eighth inning, scoring on a single by Kim followed by a two-RBI double off the left field wall by Ryan Fitzgerald. Salt Lake brought the tying run to the plate with two outs in the ninth inning when Seth Halvorsen struck out Niko Kavadas to end the game.

Today's Probable Pitcher: Cole Irvin (9-5) returns to the Comets to make his team-leading 21st start of the season...Irvin made his Dodgers debut July 31 vs. Boston, taking the loss after allowing six runs and eight hits across 6.0 innings of relief with three walks and five strikeouts. Irvin tossed a season-high 102 pitches as he appeared in his first ML game since Sept. 24, 2024 with Minnesota vs. Miami...Irvin leads the PCL in ERA (3.58) and wins (tied), while ranking tied for third in starts, fifth in innings (98.0) and BAA (.284) and sixth in WHIP (1.55). He has recorded eight quality starts with OKC...Irvin was signed by the Dodgers Feb. 3 as a minor league free agent and spent last season with the Doosan Bears of the Korean Baseball Organization (KBO), finishing 8-12 with a 4.48 ERA in 28 starts...In addition to his stint with the Dodgers, Irvin has MLB experience with Philadelphia (2019-20), Oakland (2021-22), Baltimore (2023-24) and Minnesota (2024).

Against the Bees: 2026: 6-2 2025: 7-5 All-time: 92-77 At SL: 45-39

The Comets and Bees meet for the second of two six-game sets this season and OKC's only visit to The Ballpark at America First Square...OKC won three of five games at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark May 5-9 with the series finale cancelled due to inclement weather...The Comets scored at least six runs in all five games with Jack Suwinski (.350 AVG, HR, 6 RBI) leading the offense with seven hits while Tyler Fitzgerald had a two-homer, six-RBI game May 8...The Bees batted .302 for the series and tallied 55 hits in the five games while scoring 32 runs...Since OKC became affiliated with the Dodgers in 2015, the team owns a 53-32 advantage against the Bees in the Triple-A version of the Freeway Series...The road team is 18-7 over the last 25 games between the squads, and OKC is 8-1 over the first nine games the team has played at The Ballpark at America First Square.

August Ascent: With eight straight wins, the Comets own the longest active winning streak in the full-season Minors and the longest winning streak by any PCL team this season. It's the team's first eight-game winning streak since OKC won 10 games in a row May 9-19, 2023, including a six-game series sweep in Round Rock followed by four consecutive wins against Sugar Land at home...OKC's record now sits a season-high 13 games above .500 overall (61-48) as the Comets own the third-most wins in the league this season behind first-half champion Las Vegas (63) and Sacramento (62)...This is the fourth time in the Bricktown era (since 1998) OKC has recorded multiple winning streaks of at least seven games within the same season, along with 2005, 2013 (three) and 2023. Along with Sacramento, the Comets are the only team in Triple-A this year with multiple seven-game win streaks...The Comets have won the first three games of a series for the second time this season and first time since May 19-21 against Reno in OKC. The Comets last opened a road series with three wins July 22-24, 2025 in Reno. The Comets are seeking to start a series ahead, 4-0, for the first time since April 1-4, 2025 vs. El Paso and first time on the road since May 28-31, 2024 at Albuquerque...Going back to last season, the Comets had started 12 of the last 13 road series in a 1-1 tie or down 0-2.

That's Offensive: The Comets have scored at least six runs in nine of the last 10 games, totaling 76 runs in that span. Since July 26 (10 G), the Comets' 76 runs scored are second-most in the PCL and third-most among all Triple-A teams behind Albuquerque (92) and Columbus (77)...OKC has also put together an inning with three or more runs in each of the last 10 games (14 total), including the go-ahead three-run eighth inning Thursday...The Comets have amassed double-digit runs three times over the last eight games, including scoring at least 10 runs in consecutive games Tuesday and Wednesday for the first time since a four-game streak May 17-20 at Albuquerque (59 R)...Over the last nine games, the Comets are batting .319 (100-for-313) overall and .371 (43-for-116) with runners in scoring position. They have recorded at least 10 hits in six of the nine games.

Free Bird: Alex Freeland went 2-for-3 with a RBI and two walks Thursday. He has collected a hit and walk in each of his first six games since being optioned to OKC July 28, going 8-for-21 (.381) with three extra-base hits, three RBI, eight runs, 10 walks and five stolen bases...His 10 walks accumulated since his first game back with OKC July 30 are most in the PCL, while his .581 OBP and five stolen bases are second-highest in the league during the stretch...OKC is 14-3 with Freeland in the lineup this season.

Fitz Blitz: Ryan Fitzgerald went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBI and scored a run last night. He has five hits the last two games, including three for extra bases, to go along with five RBI. Fitzgerald has also hit safely in seven of his last eight games, batting .364 (12-for-33) with five extra-base hits and 10 RBI...Fitzgerald leads the Minors with a career-high 132 hits this season and ranks fourth in the PCL with 197 total bases and tied for fifth with 72 RBI...He paces OKC with 38 multi-hit games this season.

The Third Degree: James Tibbs III is on a six-game hitting streak, going 11-for-22 with three extra-base hits and six RBI. He's picked up a hit in nine of his last 10 contests, and during that time, Tibbs is 14-for-35 (.400) with four doubles, one triple, seven RBI and seven walks...Overall this season, Tibbs leads the PCL with 77 walks and is tied for first with 83 runs scored. He ranks second in the league with 49 extra-base hits, a .960 OPS, .418 OBP and 207 total bases, tied for second in the league with 79 RBI and tied for third with 21 home runs and fourth with 113 hits and a .542 SLG.

Hard-Line: Zach Ehrhard drew a walk in the fifth inning last night to extend his on-base streak to 15 games. The outfielder is batting .351 (20-for-57) with a .476 OBP, 13 RBI, 14 walks, 14 runs scored and six multi-hit games during the stretch, which is his second on-base streak of the season of at least 15 games as he reached base in a team-high 29 straight games May 1-June 9...He ranks third in the league with 82 runs scored this season, fourth with 69 walks and 74 RBI and sixth with 110 hits.

Way of the K: The Comets pitching staff notched at least 15 strikeouts in a game for the third time this season and first time since July 1 vs. Sugar Land (16 K) last night...The Comets reached double-digits for the third straight game, combining for 35 strikeouts since Tuesday...OKC has recorded at least 10 strikeouts in five of the last six games, compiling a Triple-A-high 65 strikeouts during the stretch beginning July 31...Comets pitchers pace the PCL with 970 strikeouts this season.

On the Mend: Gavin Stone began a Major League Rehab Assignment Thursday, tossing 1.2 innings with one run, two hits and three strikeouts in his first appearance since Aug. 31, 2024 with the Dodgers at Arizona...Ben Casparius also continued his rehab assignment Thursday, allowing one run, two hits and one walk with two strikeouts in the fifth inning...The Comets have had at least one player on their roster as part of a rehab assignment for 86 of the team's 88 games since April 21.

Around the Horn: Last night was the fifth time during the team's eight-game win streak to allow three or fewer runs for a total of 25 runs during that time. OKC has held opponents 9-for-72 (.125) with RISP during the streak...Yesterday was the 13th time this year the Comets did not allow an extra-base hit...Griffin Lockwood-Powell has hit safely in five consecutive games, batting .368 (7-for-19) with four doubles.
