Ohland and Harrison Receive WCL's Moss Adams Weekly Accolades

The West Coast League's Moss Adams Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, as announced by Commissioner Rob Neyer, are Wenatchee AppleSox catcher Carson Ohland (University of Washington) and Edmonton Riverhawks right-hander Dallin Harrison (University of San Diego).
In six games with the AppleSox last week, Ohland scored nine runs, knocked home six, and reached base 14 times. A native of Maple Valley, Washington who's heading to UW this fall, Ohland propelled Wenatchee to a perfect 6-0 week as the AppleSox grabbed a two-game lead in the North Division's second-half standings. For Player of the Week honors, Ohland just edged Corvallis infielder Ethan Hedges (USC), who helped stretch the Knights' winning streak to an astounding dozen games as they took a commanding lead in the South's second-half standings.
Entering Sunday's action, Walla Walla's Zachary Hangas seemed to have wrapped up Pitcher of the Week laurels with his 2-1, complete-game victory over Springfield last Wednesday night. But Sunday afternoon in Edmonton, Dallison Harrison did Hangas one better. Facing the red-hot Cowlitz Black Bears, Harrison needed just 105 pitches for his three-hit shutout, with eight strikeouts and no walks. Harrison had pitched effectively for the Riverhawks this summer but suffered poor luck, and so his first shutout - and just third in the WCL this season - also marked his first West Coast League win.
