
OHL Announces Disciplinary Action

Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of a review of an incident which took place in a game played in Sarnia on the 14th of October, 2012 involving the Sting and the visiting Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Hockey Club.
The incident reviewed was a 5 minute major and game misconduct for checking to the head assessed to player Kevin Spinozzi of the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds Hockey Club.
Based on such review, it is the position of the League that player Kevin Spinozzi shall be suspended for eight (8) games, dating from but not including the game of Sunday, October 14th, 2012.
The league has taken the position, that for education purposes, announcements regarding supplementary discipline may be supported by video footage and additional rationale for all incidents involving checking to the head, checking from behind, and others at the discretion of the league.
