OHL Announces Disciplinary Action
Published on April 24, 2012 under Ontario Hockey League (OHL) News Release
Toronto, ON - The Ontario Hockey League today announced the results of a review of an incident which took place in Game 1 of the Rogers OHL Eastern Conference Championship Series between the Niagara IceDogs Hockey Club and the visiting Ottawa 67's Hockey Club.
The incident reviewed was a kicking action by player Marc Zanetti of the Ottawa 67's Hockey Club.
Based on a review by the League, it is the position of the League that player Marc Zanetti shall be suspended for the balance of the 2011-12 OHL Playoff Schedule of Games.
It is the League's position that if the Ottawa 67's Hockey Club should qualify to participate in the 2012 MasterCard Memorial Cup, the League would consider an application by the Ottawa 67's on behalf of player Marc Zanetti to allow for his participation in the MasterCard Memorial Cup.
