The best part about Odessa is not only the friendliness but also the sense of community we all share. As we continue to weather the storm that is COVID-19 helping our fellow neighbors becomes more and more important.
How can you help our community during this time? The Odessa Jackalopes support the Odessa Chamber of Commerce in spotlighting local non-profits. Visit them on Facebook each day for more information. Here are the local non-profits that you can help today!
Boys & Girls Club of Odessa, who are in need of thermometers (glass or digital)! If you are able to donate, contact them at (432) 337-8389.
DBA Octopus Kids (some may still know them as Vickys Kids), they are a medical advocacy home setting for medically dependent children providing 24-hour care as each child has unique circumstances and requires special care. These children do not speak, walk and some are alert only a few minutes a day. They are in need of supply donations such as adult wipes, bleach wipes, and other disinfectants. The Odessa YMCA, who care for children from six weeks to twelve years of age, are in need of additional nap mats, sleeping cots, and funds for operational costs as they have limited resources at this time. They are currently providing children with 2 meals and 2 snacks during the day and dinner in the evening, as well as formula for infants. Any monetary donations of any amount will be appreciated! Together we will once again show the country and the world that our sense of community is one of the many things that makes us Permian Basin Strong!
