July 23, 2018 - West Coast League (WCL) News Release
The West Coast League's Moss Adams Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, as announced by league commissioner Rob Neyer, are Oregon State sophomore-to-be infielder Ryan Ober of the Victoria HarbourCats and Washington State sophomore-to-be pitcher Bryce Moyle of the Walla Walla Sweets for the week of July 16-22.
Ryan Ober of the National Champion Oregon State Beavers went 7-for-17 with 5 runs, 3 homers and 8 RBIs for the HarbourCats. For the summer, Ober is hitting .308 over just 39 at bats as he didn't get started with the Cats until July 3rd because of the Beavers College World Series run.
This past spring as a frosh, Ober made 1 start, 8 appearances and scored 4 runs.
This past week, Washington State's Bryce Moyle made two appearances and one start for the Sweets, tossing 8 scoreless innings; giving up only 4 hits and 3 walks while striking out 13 and earning a win in his home start vs. Cowlitz.
As a frosh at WSU, Moyle made 16 appearances and two starts, and went 0-1 with a 6.85 ERA while walking 11 and striking out 18 over 22.1 innings pitched.
