
NWSL Disciplinary Committee Releases Decision on North Carolina Courage-Washington Spirit Incident

CHICAGO - The National Women's Soccer League's Disciplinary Committee has made the following decision after review of an incident involving Washington Spirit forward Ashley Hatch that occurred in the 76th minute of the 2022 NWSL Challenge Cup Championship against the North Carolina Courage.
After further evaluation, the Disciplinary Committee determined that Hatch committed unsportsmanlike conduct in violation of Section 12.3.6, "Major Game Misconduct", of the League Operations Manual.
As a result, Hatch has been issued a fine. The sanction is not subject to appeal under the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the National Women's Soccer League Players Association and National Women's Soccer League.
