Pride To Take Part In First Ever Women's Outdoor Classic
As part of 2016 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic® festivities, the National Hockey League (NHL) will host the first-ever Outdoor Women's Classic presented by Scotiabank, an abbreviated game on the outdoor rink at Gillette Stadium. The game will feature the Boston Pride of the NWHL and Les Canadiennes of the Canadian Women's Hockey League.

Fardelmann Nets Trick In Rivs Win, Pride Hand Whale Their First Loss
New York Riveters 7, Buffalo Beauts 3
Meghan Fardelmann notched the first hat-trick in Riveters history as New York won their first NWHL game following their trip to Japan. Janine Weber and Lyudmila Belyakova both scored a pair of goals in the victory.
Kelley Steadman scored Buffalo's first goal, which led to several hundred teddy bears being thrown on-ice as part of the Beauts "Teddy Bear Toss" game. Devon Skeats and Kourtney Kunichika also scored in the loss.
Amanda Makela would take over in the crease for Brianne McLaughlin after the Riveters' fifth goal in the second period. Members of the Washington Capitals, including Alex Ovechkin, were in attendance at HARBORCENTER.
Boston Pride 2, Connecticut Whale 1
Emily Field's goal with 4:15 left in the third period helped Boston end Connecticut's eight game winning streak and drew the Pride to within two points of the top spot in the NWHL standings. Brittany Ott, fresh off the league's first shutout last Sunday, made 33 saves on 34 shots. Nicole Stock made 26 saves for the Whale in the loss.
Kelly Cooke opened the scoring giving Boston a 1-0 first period lead. Kate Buesser tied the game eight minutes into the third period on the powerplay after Marissa Gedman was called for roughing.
Boston managed to pick up the W despite only dressing 12 skaters, including General Manager Hayley Moore, who signed a one-day contract. Several members of the team including Hilary Knight, Brianna Decker and Gigi Marvin are currently participating in a USA Hockey World Championships Selection Camp.
