Wisconsin Explosion News Release

Nashville, TN - The National Women's Football Association, the largest full contact football league in the world for women, has announced that high school girls in grades 9-12 will be allowed to play in the league.

"The league has received hundreds of emails from young women who are frustrated that there are no high school teams for them to play on. They want to play football and feel that they are talented enough to play with the big girls. Whether or not they are, will be obvious when they try out for the team. At least this gives them a chance to see if they have what it takes to play football." states VP Debby Lening.

Holly Barrett the owner states "We have turned down young women in the past because the rule was that you had to be 18 to play in our league. The rule change now gives us the opportunity to have a feeder system, so to speak. We feel a broader range of talent will be brought to the table."

Any young women in grade 9-12 may tryout for the Wisconsin Riveters by calling or emailing the team. Info@WisconsinRiveters.com 262-551-0322. You may also visit our website www.WisconsinRiveters.com.

The NWFA has 37 teams in 23 states gearing up for its 4th season. The league's website www.womensfootballassociation.com offers a wealth of information about the league and is so popular that it receives between 1 and 3 million hits per month.
