NWBL Pro Cup location announced

March 16, 2003 - National Women's Basketball League (NWBL) News Release


The National Women's Basketball League announced last week that American International College, in Springfield MA, will play host to the 2003 NWBL Pro Cup tournament. The tournament dates are April 11-13. Games will be played Friday Apr 11th at 6pm and 8pm, Saturday Apr 12th at 3pm, 5pm and 7 pm and the championship games will be Sunday April 13th at 2pm and 4pm.

"We made the decision to have the tournament in Springfield based on where we felt it would be the most successful, well-attended event," said Mike Walker, NWBL vice president and director of player personnel.

Springfield Spirit owner Steve Fox said ticket prices will be reduced to $15 for adults and $8 for children under 17 for the tournament. The Springfield Civic Center box office will be the outlet for tickets, he said. Tickets may be purchased there, by calling 787-6600 or 1-800-639-8602 or at Ticketmaster outlets. The Spirit office will handle group sales (10 or more) only.
