Huntington Heroes News Release
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The American Indoor Football League Northern Conference players of the week for week six are as follows.
LINEMAN: Chris Nunn, Huntington Heroes. No sacks allowed and anchored a line that allowed Huntington offense to run for 110 yards in the victory over Syracuse. This was the third week the Heroes offensive line has kept Fred Ray off the turf.
The Heroes play in Erie on Saturday. This is a rematch of the 8 point loss on March 25th in Huntington. That is Huntington's only loss of the season and Erie is still undefeated.
The Heroes return home on Saturday April 15th for their first meeting with Reading PA. Game time is 7PM at The Veterans Memorial Field House. Call 304 781 6800 for tickets.
The Heroes practice tonight at 7PM in the Field House. Practice is open to the public.
Other AIFL players of week six in the Northern Conference are:
OFFENSE: Carmel Occasion, Reading Express and Terrance Hudson, Johnstown River hawks. Occasion had 12 catches for 129 yards and four touchdowns as the Express spoiled the Miami Valley Silverbacks' home opener with a 61-44 decision. Hudson finished with eight catches for 70, including the game-winner on a fourth down with 24 seconds left as the River hawks upset Canton, 50-36.
DEFENSE: Sam Reynolds, Erie Freeze. Set a league record with four interceptions as the Freeze set a league record for fewest points allowed in a 62-6 smashing of the Steubenville Stampede.
SPECIAL TEAMS: JR Copra, Erie Freeze. Made six Pats and two rouges in the Freeze's victory.
