NTSN to Broadcast Texas Marshals 2014 TCL Home Games

May 19, 2014 - Texas Collegiate League (TCL) - Texas Marshals News Release

The Texas Marshals of the Texas Collegiate League have agreed to have the North Texas Sports Network and Davradio Productions broadcast their home games for the 2014 summer season.

"It's another season in the sun for us, and another season to participate with the TCL," said Executive Producer of NTSN and Davradio Productions, Dave Michaels. "This will be our 5th year to broadcast TCL baseball."

Michaels and NTSN spent the first three years of the TCL's existence with the Highland Park and Plano Blue Sox, along with having crews work for the Weatherford Wranglers and the Coppell Copperheads in 2005.

In 2011, Michaels returned to the TCL to broadcast the Coppell Copperheads championship season along with broadcast partner J.R. Schuman.

"We're excited to have NTSN and Davradio Productions on board with us this summer to broadcast all of our home games," commented Blake Koch, the Marshals' Executive Vice President and COO. "Dave Michaels is a great historian of the Texas Collegiate League and will be able to give our fans in-depth analysis and insights all of the league's current and former players."

It has been three years since Michaels and his crew last broadcast baseball games for the TCL. He is looking forward to working with the Marshals, who moved to North Dallas from McKinney after spending their first seven years at Gabe Nesbit Field on the premises of Craig Ranch. The Marshals now play all of their home games at Gary A. Pasqua Field on the campus of Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas.

The Texas Collegiate League was founded in 2004 with eight teams in North Texas. The original eight teams were the Mineral Wells Steam, Granbury Generals, Graham Roughnecks, Colleyville-Grapevine Lone Stars, Weatherford Wranglers, Coppell Copperheads, Plano Blue Sox, and McKinney Marshals. The Marshals won TCL Championships in 2006 and 2008 while in McKinney.

Joining Michaels in the booth this season will be a rotation of voices such as Tom Gulley, J.R. Schuman, and Frank "Doc" Moorefield.

NTSN's first broadcast for the 2014 season will be on Thursday, May 29th,when the Marshals host the East Texas Pump Jacks in the first game of a two-game series at Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas starting at 7:05pm.
