North Division Playoffs - Game 5

Nilson Teilon's two-out three-run homer in the seventh put North Shore on top 4-2 and propelled them to Northeast League Championship Series for the second straight year with a 7-2 victory over Quebec in game five of the North Division Series. North Shore will take on New Jersey in the best-of-five series beginning on Tuesday at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, N.J. Les Capitales led 2-0 after the first inning as Goef Tomlinson and Juan Melo each drove in runs. The Spirit cut the deficit in half in the third when Joe Hastings grounded into a double play to plate Yuri Sanchez. In the seventh, Brian Macchi led off with a walk and Mike Granger reached on an error, before Keith Dunn, who fell to 0-2 in the playoffs, got the next two hitters, setting the stage for Teilon's go-ahead blast. North Shore's Bryan Morse went 7 1/3 innings and allowed only two runs, while scattering 11 hits for his second win of the playoffs.

South Division Playoffs - Game 4

Wady Almonte, Chris Rowan and Scott Goodman each drove in three runs as New Jersey advanced to the Northeast League Championship Series for the second time in three years with a 15-3 drubbing of Bangor in game four of the South Division Series. New Jersey will square off against North Shore on Tuesday night at Yogi Berra Stadium in Little Falls, N.J. The Jackals scored three in the first on a two-run double by Kevin Grijak and an RBI-double by Almonte. After scoring one in the bottom of the first, the Lumberjacks pulled within one at 3-2 in the fourth when Rolando Bello singled home Mark Burke. New Jersey put the game away by tallying three in the fifth, seven in the sixth and two in the seventh for the final score of 15-3. In that seven-run sixth, Almonte, Rowan and Craig Conway each drove in a pair. Jackson Crowther pitched seven innings and gave up three runs, two earned, to earn the victory. Josh Tranum went 2-for-2 with an RBI for Bangor.
