The Nords and The Black Bears faced off to see who will take home the East division title in a best of 5 game matchup.

The first period got off to a quick start when James Philpott buried a power play goal just 6 minutes in to give them the 1-0 lead. Luke Antonacci would then join the rush and make it 2-0 Nords. The Black Bears would then get one back with just 3 minutes left in the 1st period. 2-1 Nords after first period.

The second period was back and forth between both teams but no scoring or penalties. 2-1 Nords after second period.

The 3rd period featured some great pushback by The Black Bears, but The Nords Defense and Ty Outen's goaltending would prevail through 18 minutes of the 3rd period. The Black Bears then pulled their goalie and Aiden Connolly would shoot an empty netter to make it 3-1. The Bears would try it again with the goalie pulled, but Caden Pattison would be hooked on a breakaway on an empty net and awarded and automatic goal. The Nords take game 1, 4-1

Game 2 is at The Colisèe tomorrow at 7pm where The Nords try to take the commanding 2-0 series lead headed back to Maryland.
