Maine Nordiques News Release

The Nordiques played game number 2 at home against the Generals looking for their first weekend sweep and to go 2-0 on the young season.

The Nordiques offense came out firing in the first period, Generals goalie Hugo Haas was strong in net but came out to play a loose puck, Tyler Gaulin would beat him to it and put it in the back of the net for a 1-0 Nordiques advantage. Just like their first game, the goals came in bunches and Reese Farrell added another under 2 minutes later. With time winding down, Jack Strauss would find a back door pass and fire it home for a 3 goal first period and a 3-0 Nordiques lead.

The Generals began the 2nd with 2 goals in the first 10 minutes. Following the 2nd goal the Nordiques would swing to the PK and kill off 2 penalties in a 6 minute frame. Their PK would go 3/3 on the night. After the 2nd the Nordiques would lead but only by 1, 3-2.

The 3rd period was back and forth, the Generals tried to tie it up and force OT but Avery Sturtz who took home the 2nd star would finish with 33/35 saves and the Nordiques would sweep the Generals in their opening weekend.
