Nords Fall to Titans in Game 2
December 19, 2021 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Maine Nordiques News Release
The Maine Nordiques were taking on the New Jersey Titans for game two of the weekend and their last game before Christmas.
The First period got underway with an Avery Sturtz breakaway save and that would set the tone in the first as the Titans were able to score back to back 2 separate times and would finish the first period up 4-0.
The second period had a different tone to it and there would be a lot of physicality after plays and eight total penalties. The Nordiques were tasked at killing off a power play but they were not only able to kill the penalty. Zach Whitehead would burry a breakaway feed from Reese Farrell to get the Nordiques on the board. They would close out the period strong but be stopped by the Titans goalie and their momentum came to a close with the period. 4-1 after the second.
The third period started with a Nordiques power play but they wouldn't be able to convert and go 0/7 on the man advantage this weekend. The Nordiques got some stellar goaltending by Gus Holt in net to keep the game close but the titans would add another to go up 5-1 five minutes into the third. The Nordiques would then get one last power play and pull their goalie for a 6 on 4 man advantage. Nick Bernardo got it over to Tyler Gaulin who found the stick of Fasig to tip it home for one last goal of the weekend. 5-2 Titans final.
The Nordiques take on the Danbury Hat Tricks December 31st to close out 2021 at the Colisee.
