Maine Nordiques News Release
The Maine Nordiques opened up the first game of a 2 game weekend set against the Northeast Generals looking to maintain and add to their 2-0 record against the Generals this season and add to their first place lead.
The first period saw no scoring as both Nordiques goalie, Tyriq Outen, and Generals goalie, Hugo Hass, both stood tall in the first; as they did throughout the entire game.
The second period brought 2 goals, both for the Generals; in quick succession just 45 seconds apart. J.R Perdion found the back of the net off of a quick shot. The Generals would go right back on the attack as Ricky Boysen brought the puck towards the net and fired a quick shot that was blocked by Cooper swift; but picked right back up and put home by Boysen. 2-0 Generals, to end the second period.
After more back and forth play to begin the 3rd period The Nordiques would finally get on the board from the stick of James Phillpott, joining the rush on a 2 on 1 and getting the pass from Aiden Connolly and Reese Farrell. Unfortunately, The Nordiques would only get that goal; as they had a power play, in the last 3 minutes of the game, they couldn't convert on and their power play would go 0/5 for the game. Tyriq Outen pulled and 6 attackers The Nords kept chipping away, but couldn't tie it up and The Generals would come away with the 2-1 win in game 1.
