Nighthawks Prepare for First Regular Season Game

Knoxville, TN- Knoxville Nighthawks are preparing for their first regular season game this Saturday, March 17th, against the Lions in Columbus, Georgia.

The Columbus Lions (0-1) have had a week to prepare since their first regular season game against the Richmond Raiders last weekend. Despite being a close game, the Lions lost 64-58 at the Richmond Coliseum.

The Nighthawks will be looking for players to step up their game this weekend after the pre-season loss against the Alabama Hammers last weekend.

-Columbus is a very experienced, well coached football team. We need to have much improvement from our scrimmage last friday night to be able to compete. But make no mistake about it we are very excited to go in to Columbus and go toe to toe with the Lions,? said Head Coach Chris MacKeown.

The Nighthawks-Lions match-up will be available for fans to listen to on Tennessee Sports Radio 1180AM. There will also be score updates on the Nighthawks' Facebook and Twitter pages.

Knoxville fans will be able to see the Nighthawks back on their home turf at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum on Saturday, March 31st at 7:00pm for the Home Opener against the Richmond Raiders.
