Nighthawks have success off the field

April 1, 2012 - Professional Indoor Football League (PIFL)
Knoxville NightHawks News Release

Knoxville, TN- The Nighthawks (0-3) had a rough start at home tonight against the Richmond Raiders (3-1) in an 80-29 loss.

Fans flocked down to the Civic Coliseum for the Home Opener of the 2012 season in a re-match against the Raiders. The crowd definitly got into the game early by participating in cheers and promotions.

The players on the field however did not get as much enjoyment out of the game as the fans did. Despite the loss on the field, fans had the Nighthawk's back throughout the game and the score did not reflect the atmosphere that was in the building.

Knoxville had a total of 207 passing yards compared to 310 by the Raiders.

The young Nighthawks ended up proving that there are still kinks to be worked out on both the offensive and defensive sides. Dealing with injuries this week to two key players, LaMarcus Thompson and Justin Craig, definitly ended up showing that they are needed in the game.

Luckily, the Nighthawks have two weeks off which will hopefully give the team enough time to rest up and get healthy.

The Nighthawks will take on the Albany Panthers on Saturday, April 14th at 7pm at the Knoxville Civic Coliseum. For more information, visit www.knoxvillenighthawks.com or call (865) 686-6106.
