NIFL Announces Week 6 Schedule Adjustments
Published on April 12, 2004 under National Indoor Football League (NIFL) News Release
LAFAYETTE, LA--With minor changes in the works to the 2004 schedule, the National Indoor Football League would like to announce the Week 6 game lineup, as follows:
Friday, April 16
Sioux Falls Storm at Lincoln Capitols
Saturday, April 17
Sioux City Bandits at Wyoming Cavalry
Black Hills Red Dogs at Utah Warriors
Omaha Beef at Billings Outlaws
Wichita Falls Thunder at Tri-City Diesel
Beaumont Drillers at Oklahoma Crude
Ohio Valley Greyhounds at Lexington Horsemen
Show Me Believers at Evansville BlueCats
Houma Bayou Bucks at Lake Charles LandSharks
Waco Marshals at Tupelo FireAnts
A revised 2004 schedule is currently being finalized by the league, and will be released once completed.
In other news, the NIFL is currently working on several avenues that would bring new owners back into the fold in Myrtle Beach, SC. Once finalized, Myrtle Beach will be re-added to the NIFL schedule, as they will potentially play their full slate of home and road games.
In Colorado, the NIFL has announced that the team will cease operations for the 2004 season. At first, Colorado was going to fulfill their road game obligations, but today the NIFL Executive Committee decided it was best to sit out one year in the Fort Collins market in order to re-group and organize a strong ownership group to enter the Budweiser Events Center in 2005.
All former Colorado Venom players have been granted their release from the NIFL and are free to sign with other teams in the league.
"The league is working hard to fill gaps in both the Myrtle Beach and Colorado situations," NIFL President Carolyn Shiver said. "We are working to provide quality home opponents and keep all currently schedule home dates for all of our member teams, and while we are in the reshuffling process now, we are certain everything will come together as quickly as possible."
