Published on June 5, 2007 under National Football League Europa (NFLE) News Release

Quarterback J.T. O'SULLIVAN of the Chicago Bears, cornerback CARLOS HENDRICKS of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and kicker JARET JOHNSON of the Amsterdam Admirals are the NFL Europa League Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams Players of the Week for games played the eighth week of the 2007 season (June 2-3), the league announced today.

O'Sullivan's late-game heroics during the Frankfurt Galaxy's come-from-behind victory against the Berlin Thunder earned him Offensive Player of the Week honors. With the Galaxy trailing 22-3 with just over nine minutes remaining, O'Sullivan threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns on his team's final three possessions to secure a 25-22 win. He finished the afternoon with the first 300-yard passing performance in NFL Europa this season, completing 27 of 37 passes for 333 yards, three touchdowns and one interception.

In addition to helping Frankfurt (6-2) move within one victory of clinching a berth in World Bowl XV, O'Sullivan now leads the NFLEL in passer rating (100.2). In his second season with the Galaxy, O'Sullivan improved his record as a starter to 12-4. He has thrown for 1,621 yards with 11 touchdowns and five interceptions this season.

Hendricks, who was allocated by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, was named Defensive Player of Week 8 after helping the Rhein Fire to a 41-38 win over Amsterdam. He recorded eight tackles, knocked down four passes and scored on a 68-yard interception return.

"I just did my job and played as hard as I could," said Hendricks, who ranks second on Rhein's defense with 35 tackles and leads the club with 12 passes defensed. "It felt good to score. It was like a dream come true."

Johnson earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors after converting all three of his field goal attempts, including a 49-yarder, and three PATs for a total of 12 points during Amsterdam's loss to the Fire.

Johnson has scored 32 points this season, converting five of six field goals and 17 of 20 PATs.

German defensive end BEN ISHOLA of the Hamburg Sea Devils picked up his second National Player of the Week award of the 2007 season after leading his team's defensive stand during a 21-7 road win over the Cologne Centurions. He also earned the distinction in Week 2.

Ishola, who played college football at Indiana and was in training camp with the Miami Dolphins last summer, recorded three tackles and two sacks as Hamburg improved to 5-3.

Through eight weeks of play, Ishola ranks fourth in NFL Europa with 4.0 sacks. He has also knocked down one pass and added three special teams tackles.
