Wolves On The Road Tonight
Game Four Preview - Manchester @ Macon
Friday, April 29 - 7:30 PM (Macon Coliseum)
Broadcast live on WFEA 1370 AM
The Manchester Wolves are on the road again this week for their second road game of 2005 when they travel to Macon, GA for a Friday, April 29 battle against the Macon Knights (2-2). The Wolves (2-1) are looking to win their third straight game and improve to 3-1 on the season. Friday's game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. at the Macon Coliseum.
Road contests are always tough in the af2 and this week's game against the Knights shouldn't be any different. Macon, currently 1-1 at home and on the road, has been a little inconsistent in its first four games. On the positive side, the Knights came within seconds of beating the defending ArenaCup champion Florida Firecats at home in Week 1 (L 32-35) and defeated the Birmingham Steeldogs at home in Week 3, scoring a season-high 67 points (W 67-50). On the bad side, Macon scored just 18 points in a disheartening 28-18 defeat on the road at Green Bay this past weekend. The Knights strength is their defense. Through four games, they have allowed an average of just 38.5 points per game. On offense, the leader is QB Lionel Hayes. Hayes was stellar is the first three games, tossing 14 touchdown passes with no interceptions. Against Green Bay, however, he was on the run, throwing just two touchdowns with four interceptions. He was also sacked four times. His play will be critical if Macon is to get back on track against the Wolves.
Fans who want to cheer on the Wolves from their homes in New Hampshire can listen to the action live on WFEA AM 1370. Local radio veteran Dick Lutsk will provide the play-by-play.
