Newark Express schedules press conference
Newark, NJ. The ABA Newark Express has scheduled a Press Conference to officially announce the signing of Head Coach Darryl Dawkins. The date of the event is Wednesday, October 19th at 1pm. It will be held in the Mary Burch Theatre on the campus of Essex County College, 303 University Avenue, Newark, NJ.
Co-owner Jacqui Halyard states, "We will be introducing the press to our newly signed players, BOMBO Sports & Entertainment, LLC and the Newark Express Ownership Group." According to co-owner Marsha Blount, "The support that we've received from Mayor Sharpe James and his administration has been unsurpassed. The City of Newark is ready for the ABA and the Newark Express to make a statement." According to Mayor James, "The Newark Express is our team."
Newark has produced some of the most talented individuals in their chosen fields, from Queen Latifah, Shaquille O'Neill, Whitney Houston, Melba Moore, Joe Piscopo and Erik Williams just to name a few. The City of Newark hopes that they'll come out and show their support for Newark's pro basketball in the city that they love.
