Jersey Express News Release

Newark, NJ August 20th, 2006 - The Newark Express participated in the 11th Annual African American South Ward Festival, in Newark, NJ on Saturday. The annual festival is an Official Stop on the COORS LIGHT Roots of Rhythm Tour.

Sponsored by The Bergen Street Merchants Association, and Co-Sponsored by the CITY OF NEWARK, BET, COORS, PRUDENTIAL FINANCIAL, CITY NATIONAL BANK and THE "IMMUNIZE ON TIME, EVERY TIME " ALLIANCE.

The Newark Express, located at the base of the BET STAGE at the festival, was one of the main focuses of the event. Thru-out the days performances, which included an appearance by OLIVIA and MISSY "MISDEMEANOR" ELLIOTT, announcements were made informing those in attendance that the City of Newark wanted to welcome it's very own Newark Express Professional Basketball Team.

Head Coach Ron Moore was greeted with a rousing ovation when he took the stage. In addressing the crowd, Coach Moore introduced the Owners of the Team, Marsha Blount and Jacqueline Halyard. He then invited Newark's own Phillip Smith, a highly touted player from Newark, to address the crowd. Mr. Smith gracefully thanked Coach Moore for the opportunity, and shared his thoughts on how important it is for the residents of Newark to come out and support it's very own Professional Basketball Team.

Newark Express Consultant, Kirk Quocko, a resident of Newark, NJ ran the Newark Express's participation in the Festival. Mr. Quocko, also known as "Q", helped to facilitate meetings with Mayor Corey Booker, City Councilman-At-Large Donald M. Payne, Jr. and COORS' LIGHT'S own Joseph Dorval.

"We have been fortunate to have built, and will continue to cultivate the relationships forged in the great City of Newark. Our involvement with the existing organizations, and the newly formed task forces of the Honorable Mayor Cory Booker, will help to solidify our commitment to the City of Newark. Our goal is to become an intricate part of the revitalization of the City of Newark", quoted Co-owner Marsha Blount.
