February 1, 2013 - Canadian American League (Can-Am)
Newark Bears News Release

Danielle Dronet, Owner/GM of the Newark Bears professional baseball team, has been named by NJBIZ as one of their 2013 New Jersey's Best 50 Women in Business.

Dronet, along with the other women selected, will be honored at a ceremony on Thursday, March 21, 2013 at The Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, N.J. The honorees will also be highlighted in NJBIZ on March 25, 2013.

A self-made entrepreneur, Dronet enters her second full season as majority owner of the Bears and is focused on fielding a championship-caliber team in Newark. But the Louisiana native's reach goes far beyond baseball, as making a positive impact in the local and surrounding communities is one of her main priorities.

In 2013, the Bears will once again offer value-minded discounts and exciting promotional events all season long, such as Fireworks Nights, FunDay Sunday-when all children 12 and under eat for free and get to run the bases after the game-and Take-2 Tuesday-which offers two-for-one deals. The team plays its first home game at Bears & Eagles Riverfront Stadium on May 17, 2013 at 7:05 p.m. against the Rockland Boulders. Following the game, the Bears will put on a spectacular fireworks show.

The Best 50 Women in Business awards program honors New Jersey's most dynamic women in business that has made headlines within their field. To qualify, a nominee had to meet selection criteria that included living or working in New Jersey and holding significant authority for decision making in her company.
