Newark Bears Owner Named to NJBIZ's Best 50 Women in Business List

Danielle Dronet, Owner/GM of the Newark Bears professional baseball, team was recently honored by NJBIZ, New Jersey's premiere business news publication, as one of New Jersey's 2013 Best 50 Women in Business during an awards reception and ceremony on Thursday, March 21 at the Palace at Somerset Park in Somerset, NJ. The awards program was sponsored by Wells Fargo, WithumSmith+Brown, PC, Comcast Business Class and Wolff & Samson PC.
A self-made entrepreneur, Dronet enters her second full season as majority owner of the Bears and is focused on fielding a championship-caliber team in Newark. But the Louisiana native's reach goes far beyond baseball, as making a positive impact in the local and surrounding communities is one of her main priorities.
The Best 50 Women in Business awards program honors New Jersey's most dynamic women in business that have been making headlines in their field. To qualify, a nominee had to meet selection criteria that included living or working in New Jersey, and holding significant authority for decision making in their company.
An independent panel of judges selected the top 50 winners based on their dedication to business growth, professional and personal accomplishments, community involvement and advocacy for women.
