
New York's Aaron Garcia reaches pro football milestone

NEW YORK â New York Dragons quarterback AARON GARCIA (6-1, 195, Sacramento State) threw five touchdown passes on Friday night to become the first player in professional football history to record 700-or-more career passing touchdowns.
The 11-year veteran accomplished the milestone when he connected with offensive specialist KEVIN SWAYNE on a 37-yard pass in the first quarter of the Dragons' 65-57 win against the Dallas Desperados (7-5-1) at American Airlines Center in Dallas. With the victory, the Dragons (8-5) claimed first place in the Eastern Division.
Garcia finished the game completing 18-of-31 passes for 206 yards and five touchdowns (one interception), bringing his career-passing touchdown total to 704. He entered the game with 699 career touchdown passes.
Through 13 games this season, Garcia has completed 268-of-415 passes for 3,267 yards and 69 touchdowns (11 interceptions).
Garcia, who holds the AFL single-season record for most touchdown passes (104 in 2001), became the first professional football player to throw for 600 career touchdowns on April 18, 2004 against the Colorado Crush.
