New York Riptide News Release

Uniondale, NY - The New York Riptide have signed defenseman Scott Dominey to a one-year contract.

Dominey was acquired by the Riptide in June via a trade with Panther City Lacrosse Club, after he was selected by them in the 2021 NLL Expansion Draft from the Toronto Rock. In nine games for the Toronto Rock last season, Dominey scored seven points on six goals and an assist, including two game winning goals. Dominey also scooped 32 loose balls and caused four turnovers.

"Scott brings skills we can build into our defense and he is a constant breakaway threat in transition that opponents must be mindful of," Riptide General Manager Jim Veltman said. "New York fans will love his work ethic within the defensive zone and his explosiveness out of it. He is a welcome addition to our organization."

Selected 57th overall by the Rock in the 2018 NLL Entry Draft, the 6-foot lefthander had a 5-year career at Nippising of the CUFLA, where he was the scoring champion and East MVP in 2018. Dominey also was the CUFLA East Scoring champion in 2017, scoring a career-high 50 goals. Dominey also won the Founders Cup Canadian Jr. B Championship in 2016 and 2017 with Orangeville Jr. B Northmen.

The Riptide will return to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for the franchise's second season this December.
