New York Riptide News Release
Uniondale, NY - The New York Riptide have signed forward Mack Mitchell to a two-year contract, the team announced today. The deal is pending league approval.
Per team policy, no terms were released.
In six games with the New England Blackwolves last season, Mitchell had four assists to go along with a career-high 23 loose ball pickups and six caused turnovers. For his career, he has seven points, all assist, as well as 47 loose balls and nine caused turnovers in 16 games.
"Mack gives us much needed depth on our defense," Riptide General Manager Jim Veltman said. "He comes as a leader from a strong junior program in Orangeville and is looking for a chance to show what he can do at the NLL level. We feel confident that he will shine in a Riptide uniform."
Selected 34th overall by the Vancouver Warriors in the 2017 NLL Entry Draft, the 6-foot-3 Mitchell played in eight games over one and a half seasons with Vancouver before being traded to New England midway through the 2018-19 campaign.
The Riptide will return to Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum for the franchise's second season this December.
